BKQ Day of Giving BackDate: Saturday, Nov 11, 2023- Veterans Day.
Time: 10am- 4pm. Address: 10921 Foy Ln, Houston, TX 77093. This time is dedicated to giving back to the servicemen and servicewomen in our community by gifting them with essential kits made up of essential items such as cleaning, laundry and kitchen supplies. About one-third of the homeless population is made up of veterans and many more struggle to have their basic needs met. This event brings together volunteers to sort through donations and also create hygiene packs and lunches to distribute to displaced individuals located in downtown Houston. We are excited for the opportunity to sponsor a group of students to Prairie View University and have them attend a 3-day STEM summer camp where they will dive into STEM workshops, discussions and activities aimed at encouraging interest and curiosity in the STEM subject areas. Education will not only be focused on science, technology, engineering, and math but students will be engaging in leadership development activities that will encourage them to pave their own path in their educational journey and appreciate being unique leaders. We are in need of volunteers to work with students, as well as those with experience and education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and leadership speakers as well. BKQ Day of ServiceDate: Saturday, May 20, 2023- Armed Forces Day.
Time: 10am- 4pm. Address: 10921 Foy Ln, Houston, TX 77093. Service is a part of leadership and with our Day of Service, we give our volunteers an opportunity to show care and service to others. We are bringing together volunteers to write out thank you/greeting cards and make BKQ Affirmation bracelets. These items will be distributed to our service men and women overseas along with local children in foster care here in Houston, Texas. True leadership is born out of service. Becoming Kings and Queens goal is to ensure we are celebrating those who work to protect our country gratitude but also provide laughter and cheer to children who are awaiting their forever home. BKQ Leadership Life Skills Program Celebration Field Trip and GraduationDate: Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Becoming Kings and Queens Inc seeks to celebrate the end of our 12-week Leadership Life Skills program at Lewis Middle School by providing all participating students a field trip to Houston Interactive Aquarium & Animal Preserve along with a BKQ graduation ceremony. Lewis Middle School students have participated in a 12-week program learning from various community leaders and mentors about 10 key areas that will enhance their leadership and life skills for the future. These topics included:
Through these discussions and sharing of experiences, we teach our students that they are kings and queens and not slaves to the labels that society may place on them early on. We are very excited to be able to help our students “change their narrative” and need your help to celebrate our students with the achievement and acknowledgement that they deserve. We have been asked to bring volunteers who will help with leading stations. Home Essential Kits- AssemblyMay 20, Friday.
Time - Address - For the month of May, we are collecting donations to purchase kitchen, cleaning, laundry, home supplies, to create "Home Essential Kits" to be distributed to families of domestic violence. Oftentimes, these families must leave all of their belongings in order to ensure their safety. As the Becoming Kings and Queens organization, we are committed to helping these families obtain the necessities to create a safe, clean peaceful KINGDOM home.
We are currently donating to purchase the needed supplies, then we need volunteers to meet to help assemble the kits on Friday, May 20th, (location to be determined). Kujawa Elementary School Book FairOct 12.
4:30-6:00pm. 7007 Fallbrook, Houston TX. 77086. We are looking for volunteers to join us as we assist at Kujawa Elementary School- Book Fair. Volunteers will read children's books to students and assist as needed with the actual book fair. Reading volunteers work with elementary students to promote reading. They may read books to kids, listen to kids read aloud, or distribute books to students. Reading volunteers promote the activity of reading, vs focusing on teaching reading skills.
